DJ BABU AT THE DOCTOR’S ORDERS, FABRIC.

Back in January, I posted the news that London's number one hip-hop night - The Doctor's Orders - was to premiere at its new home in Farringdon: the mighty fabric. Well, that happened last Friday. And hey, Spin Doctor and his crew threw one hell of a housewarming, with The Last Skeptik, Mr Thing, Ty, The Nextmen and none other than Dilated Peoples wax wizard DJ Babu on hand to ease London's party people into a stellar weekend.

Chris Oroc, better known to you as DJ Babu, killed it as expected. Nothing but seamless mixing and on point turntablism, and the track selection made for the best hip-hop set I've heard in a long, long time. From Q-Tip's 'Breathe And Stop', to Dilated classics, all the way through to the Dilla joints that whipped the crowd into a frenzy. I gotta say, it was the perfect way to celebrate The Doctor's Orders' first official night in Farringdon.

It was pretty cool to see Spin take his night to fabric; his residency at Herbal was unforgettable, but giving The Doctor's Orders a new home in the form of fabric was a laudable move. For one, I've never seen a Doctor's Orders night so RAMMED.

If you didn't go and feel like you missed out (you did), Spin typically has another treat for you. On Thursday 4th March, two heavyweights in the form of Statik Selektah and Saigon will be playing Madame Jo Jo's courtesy of The Doctor's Orders.
