DJ PREMIER & PETE ROCK: WAXIN LYRICAL.
Back in March I blogged about the special event that would commence in May, pairing DJ Premier with Pete Rock to unleash the mother of all hip hop parties out in Tokyo, commemorating 30 years of Manhattan Records.
Having dominated much of the nineties through their extensive and profound contributions towards the world of hip hop, rocking both the production boards and the wheels-of-steel, the two icons sit down with Japanese online mag Defrag to discuss, long time admiration between each other, early influences, the hip hop game and making quality music, with a touching tribute to long time friend and collaborator Guru, who died shortly before the interview was shot.
