ICE-T SHOT ME IN THE FACE.
What a great idea for a book: relate various different stories about the crazy, and most probably surreal, situations you find yourself in with some of music's most unpredictable, incendiary and intriguing rappers.
Luke Fox, a music journo living and working in Toronto has done just that. Entitled Ice-T Shot Me In The Face & Eleven Other Stories About Rap Music, Fox has collated twelve self-written, feature-length tales about some of rap's most prominent figures. Including Kool G Rap, Ghostface, Nas, DOOM, Kanye and Common.
I'm liking the steez here; you don't really get to read in-depth articles and profile pieces on rappers like this anymore - just quick fire Q&As that barely hold your attention in most cases.
It's definitely going on the 'books to buy' list.
