ONRA: LONG DISTANCE.
If you don't know about French beat monger ONRA, now's the time to get to know.
An alumni of last year's Red Bull Music Academy in Barcelona, Onra crafts soulful but intricate beat instrumentals out of rare, obscure vinyl. His LP 'Chinoiseries', for example, was made entirely from vintage wax mined from a trip to Saigon and its bustling markets. If you haven't heard it, be sure to check it out.
Anyway, Onra has a new record coming out in May on All City. It's called 'Long Distance', and sounds like this:
It's a bit of a departure from his usual sound, but promises to be nothing short of banging. Whattup Future Funk.
