STOLEN SPACE PLAYS HOST TO USUGROW.

I dropped by Brick Lane’s celebrated Stolen Space Gallery a couple of days ago to revel in the visual delights of their latest exhibition; featuring new works from esteemed Japanese artist, Usugrow.
Entitled ‘Hasadhu In The Night Before A Storm’-this prominent collection of new work invites the viewer to embark on a journey through the inner depths of Usugrow’s fictional character, Hasadhu’s subconscious. Manifested to reflect the artist's own thoughts, Hasadhu serves as an alter ego Usugrow is allowed to slip into whist he produces his artwork.
Dark, rich, cultivating and thoroughly engaging, Usugrow’s works are executed with great precision and sensitivity, exuding an arresting beauty that completely captivates the viewer. With his works being created predominately in black and white, Usugrow’s palette reflects the light and dark sides of life, opposing elements existing in harmony.

I love this piece, which sequentially documents Usugrow’s creative process, from his initial pencil outlines, through to the meticulous ink work. Exceptional!

‘Hasadhu In The Night Before A Storm’ is on at the The Stolen Space Gallery until next week Sunday, 18th April, so make sure you pop down and experience these incredible collections of Usugrow’s work.
