THE RISE OF THE NON-CONFORMISTS.

This weekend sees the launch of The Whitecross Street Party – a fantastic FREE 2 day event celebrating urban art.

The whole street will become a creative haven of artistic opportunity. Not only will two dozen leading artists transform the street to become a giant canvas but also local schools, community centres, local businesss, local council and local charities in unity have pitched together to make this event one to be remembered. Showcased also will be over ten underground musicians playing Parisian style right on the street. Also, expect loads of wonderful activities and things to do for all ages. This will include things like giant knitting, carnival Parades, cilk screen workshops, children's photo booth, stencil printing workshops, live art demonstrations, birds of prey and lots more.

Really looking forward to this, it promises to be an exciting community event. Though the show will run up until the 5th September, I’d say it’s best to capture the creative spirit, buzz and carnival-like nature of the launch. Some of the artists on the bill include Eelus, Best Ever, David Bray, Mysterious Al, Paul Insect, Wreckage and Shepherd Fairey.

Pop down to Whitecross Street EC1 this Saturday and Sunday from noon and witness the many festivities unravel.
