LONDON PLEASURE GARDENS OPENS WITH PARADISE GARDENS FESTIVAL
New East London cultural spot launches with a spectacular bang

200 years ago, London had the Pleasure Gardens – places where the British public could immerse itself in culture and experience the joy of open air entertainment. On 30th June 2012 a new Pleasure Gardens returns, and London’s most exciting, new cultural hotspot will be opening with the spectacular Paradise Gardens Festival. A 2 day festival from the brains behind Mutate Britain, Glastonbury’s infamous Shangri-La and Cordy House, the festival is a fitting opening celebration for the Pleasure Gardens featuring music, food, art, theatre and other cultural shenanigans in the 35,000 capacity wonderland.
Best of all, it’s free.
Information on the line up (Hypnotic Brass Ensemble anyone?) and goings on over the weekend of debauchery is in the flyer above. All you gots to do is rock up, immerse yourselves in the surroundings and soak it all up. You’ll be able to catch me partaking in the hokey cokey world record attempt.
Check out this nifty little video on the London Pleasure Gardens while you’re at it. With other events like Bloc going down in the beginning of July, it’s safe to say Brainer will be visiting a fair few times.
