Thurs before last was a bloody good night and saw the next instalment of the Jameson Cult Film Club with a showing of Gareth Edwards’ stupendously good feature-debut ‘Monsters’ set against the intriguing backdrop of the Royal College of Surgeons. That got me thinking of another screening I recently went along to – for ‘Julia’s Eyes’ – which was of that discomforting ilk of film that seemed worth shoehorning into this article to give it its snappy title. Natch.

Well, Sundance 2011 came and went in January and, judging from the reports I’ve read, there’s plenty of things to keep an eye out for this year.

Aside from all this notable creative output was an animated short entitled, ‘The External World’ – the genuine reason for this piece which is ostensibly dressed up as a post-Sundance report.
