If you have plans tomorrow evening, best cancel them. DELS – one of Big Dada’s latest signings is set to release his debut album ‘GOB’ in May, and the London rapper is throwing a little shindig at the Hoxton Bar & Grill to celebrate. More info after the jump!
The New York rapper is set to tear the Scala apart this Friday
That’s right – the man like Pharoahe Monch is touching down in London to play the Scala in Kings Cross this Friday in support of his new album: ‘W.A.R. (We Are Renegades)’. Not only that, but we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky winner. Find out more after the jump.
Black Star reunite for London show with help from De La Soul and Rakim
BLACK STAR IS BACK. Well, for the moment anyway, as Mos Def and Talib Kweli reunite for a one-off show in London this May – 13 years after they dropped their cult debut album: ‘Mos Def & Talkib Kweli Are Black Star’. Pretty much an unmissable show as it is, but throw in De La Soul, Rakim and a ton of special guests (The Roots? Q-Tip? Common?!) and you’re in for the show of your life.
Our homie and regular snapper Tim had the pleasure of being asked to exhibit some of his photography for ARTOUR-O in Florence over the weekend. What you might not know, is that Tim is also a music producer. And he got to incorporate some production work into the installation he put together.
A retrospective look at the Norwegian electronic music duo’s visual output (BFI Southbank, Fri 11th Feb 2011)
This was the first ‘BUG’ event I’ve been to and, if this one’s anything to go by, consider me a convert of David Bellamy proportions. For the uninitiated, the sub-heading – ‘The Evolution of Music Video’ – gives you the gist.
Daedelus, TOKiMONSTA, Starkey and Lazer Sword set to tear up the next EE party
Yep, those hardworking fellas at Earnest Endeavours are at it again. And this time, the lineup is every bit as strong as their previous 2 parties (Nosaj Thing at Pattern Cutters was damn near a perfect night for me). I’ve seen Daedelus a fair few times now, and I gotta say, the man kills it every time. With completely diverse sets too – his grasp of the dynamics of a set and how to keep a crowd engaged is superb. That whole Victorian dandy thing just adds to the weird – but awesome – experience.

Expect a good looking, good smelling, good-ass collectible magazine bursting with the dopest graffiti and street art you will set your retinas on today.
Two Agents of Change, a whole lot of booze and some incredible artwork!
Tuesday evening saw the launch of the highly anticipated ‘A’ exhibition – the 2 man art show from Agents of Change, Steve More and Remi/Rough. Housed in Shoreditch’s Blackall Studios, the show parades an exciting new body of work from both artists, whose long history of collaborative projects has brought them both to a bold new beginning. ‘A’ an exhibition that shapes new thinking and further stretches the boundaries of contemporary art.

The audio-visual behemoth is back with a little help from Solid Steel
More audiovisual shennanigans from the Soundcrash boys in conjunciton with Solid Steel veterans Hexstatic, DJ Food & DK and DJ Cheeba to celebrate (although belatedly) Ninja Tune’s 20th anniversary last year. This event was actually supposed to take place last year, but got cancelled because of snow and the world ending (in England, anyway). So now it’s going down this coming Saturday! Something to look forward to on a dreary, wet, cold, grey day (in England, anyway).
