What with Valentine’s Day looming large on the fun-horizon (cards to the usual address please), I thought it high time to post up my review of Blue Valentine. Now before anyone has it out with me; make no mistake – this isn’ t a first date movie. That is, unless you want it to end right there and then. It’s a raw, unflinching portrayal of love found and love lost, which refuses to pull any punches; bittersweet, yet brilliant, with two leads excelling at its exposed heart.
